The event witnessed the participation of nearly 250 individuals, including retired officers, personnel and Veer Naris.
The celebrations began with the hoisting of the CRPF flag, followed by a floral tribute to Bharat Mata and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, India’s first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister. It was under his visionary leadership that the Crown Representative Police was renamed as the Central Reserve Police Force through the CRPF Act, 1949. Recognising its dedication and valour, the CRPF was presented with the President’s Colour on March 19, 1950.
Established in 1939, the CRPF has evolved into India’s largest paramilitary force, currently over 3.25 lakh strong.
The gathering was addressed by Dr Kulbhushan and Onkar Singh Charak, former DIG, CRPF, who highlighted the force’s rich legacy and enduring role in upholding internal security. They paid tribute to the sacrifices and services of CRPF personnel and highlighted the force’s pivotal role in ensuring national security and unity.
To mark the occasion, a ceremonial lamp was lit and a celebratory cake was cut. The event also featured devotional songs performed by ex-personnel as part of a cultural programme. Veterans, Veer Naris, and gallantry awardees were honoured for their service and sacrifices.
