Penpa Tsering, Sikyong of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), has expressed deep sorrow over the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 28 lives and left many injured.

In an official statement shared on "X", the Sikyong said, “We are deeply saddened by the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir. On behalf of the Central Tibetan Administration, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families. We pray for the swift and full recovery of those injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with the people and the government of India during this difficult time.”

The Sikyong expressed solidarity with the people and the government of India, joining them in prayer and resilience during this difficult time. Meanwhile, the Sikyong as the incumbent Kalon (minister) of the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, paid a courtesy call on Union Minister for AYUSH (Ministry of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) Prataprao Ganpatrao Jadhav and highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen traditional Tibetan medicine and support its practitioners.

The Sikyong was accompanied by Jigmey Jungney from the Bureau of the Dalai Lama, Health Secretary Jampa Phuntsok, Executive Director of the Tibetan Medical and Astro Institute Thupten Tsering and secretary of the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine (CCTM) Menpa Thupten Kunphel. The key agenda of the meeting was to secure support for Tibetan Sowa-Rigpa practitioners under the provisions of the Tibetan Rehabilitation Policy, 2014.
