Cabinet Secretary Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi addressed the gathering, emphasising the importance of celebrating and expressing gratitude to all involved in enacting this law at this pivotal moment. Following his remarks, DIIR Secretary Karma Choeying read the drafted Tibet Resolve Act, highlighting its primary objective to rebut the Chinese government’s misrepresentation of Tibetan history and affirm the stance of the US government against it.

Officiating Sikyong Dolma Gyari expressed deep satisfaction regarding the passage of this legislation. She underscored the Tibetan community’s joy over enacting the law and emphasised the enduring commitment of the USA to the situation in Tibet. She also said that during the Dalai Lama’s visit to the USA, the American President officially invited him to visit the White House.

She highlighted the pressing circumstances in Tibet by referencing several timely resolutions in the Congress. She said many Tibetan refugees receive equivalent rights to American citizens through the US Resettlement Programme.
