CTA to collect donations for 90th b''day celebrations of Dalai Lama
The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) has decided to raise donations for organising the year-long 90th birthday celebrations of the Dalai Lama. In honour of the Dalai Lama, the CAT has officially decided to organise year-long celebrations from July, 2025 to July, 2026, and declare it the Year of Compassion.
As part of the celebrations, the CTA will also hold a special offering of long-life prayers based on the Amitayus Extracting, the Pure Ambrosia practice for the Dalai Lama, in Dharamsala to ensure the longevity and fulfilment of his profound and noble wishes.
In an announcement made here yesterday, the Central Organising Committee of the CTA invited all those who wished to contribute to this auspicious offering to make their donations through their respective Tibetan Settlement Offices or Offices of Tibet for the forthcoming event.
The CTA is making preparations to make the 90th birthday celebrations of the Dalai Lama as a world wide event amid reports that China was preparing to control the process of reincarnation of the spiritual leader. As the present Dalai Lama is aging, there is growing concern among the Tibetan community regarding the Chinese government trying to influence the process of his reincarnation.
