Siddharth Shekhar Singh and Piyush Kumar of Central University Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) have been awarded the UCO Rajbhasha Samman by UCO Bank, Dharamsala, for securing the first two positions in postgraduate Hindi examinations. Both the students were presented with a cheque of Rs 5,000 each, and souvenirs.

CUHP Vice-Chancellor Sat Prakash Bansal congratulated both the students and wished them a bright future.

Assistant Director (Official Language), Central University, Sanjay Kumar Singh said the award aimed to encourage the promotion and development of Hindi.

Keeping in mind the spirit of Article 351 of the Constitution, this honour was given to the two highest scoring meritorious students of the Hindi postgraduate course of Central University of Himachal Pradesh. Siddharth, who secured the first position in the examination with 77.53 per cent marks, and Piyush Kumar, who secured the second position with 76.03 per cent marks, were honoured.

The VC congratulated both the students and said the efforts being made by UCO Bank were highly commendable.
