The second day of ‘Kangra Valley Carnival’ christened as ‘Bollywood and Indie Music Evening’ was inaugurated by Raghubir Singh Bali, HPTDC Chairperson. Gajender Verma — famous Indian singer, composer and lyricist, Nausikhiya Band and a scintillating performance by Bhawna Pathania were the highlights of the evening.

Bali, in his address, appreciated the district administration for this mega show which, according to him, would facilitate the state government’s resolution in making Kangra district the tourism capital of Himachal Pradesh.

Dhani Ram, a celebrated Pahari miniature artist, said such events, showcasing native art and craft, were the need of the hour to promote and preserve the rich cultural heritage of Kangra.

Dr Janmay, a national awardee in music, said, “The mega event is gaining popularity with each passing day. There is a lot of curiosity among the audience who are coming here in large numbers.”

Visitors are also purchasing handicrafts and satisfying their taste buds at the carnival.
