The serene surroundings of the historic Dhruveshwar Mahadev Temple at Dal Lake, Naddi, resonated with quiet devotion as Radha Ashtami was observed in a subdued manner on Sunday. In view of recent natural calamities and an advisory from the district administration, the celebrations were kept low-key.

Deputy Chief Whip and local MLA Kewal Singh Pathania, along with temple committee members, performed Puja-Archana seeking blessings for the state’s peace, health and prosperity. “I prayed to Mahadev for the well-being of our people and the strength to serve with dedication,” Pathania said.

On the occasion, he announced that Dal Lake will be renovated and beautified with a sanctioned budget of Rs 1 crore, approved swiftly by Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. He emphasised the government’s commitment to safeguarding Himachal Pradesh’s spiritual and cultural heritage, while also enhancing worship facilities, infrastructure and temple management through systematic and digital reforms.
