Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama gave a one-day teaching to groups of South East Asian Buddhists in his main temple at McLeodganj yesterday. This is the first teaching the Dalai Lama gave in Dharamsala after he underwent a knee replacement surgery in the USA in July.
Though the Dalai Lama still walked with support, he seemed quite agile during the teaching.The Dalai Lama’s teachings have been giving a boost to tourism in the upper Dharamsala area, especially McLeodganj. Hundreds of South East Asian Buddhists attended the teaching.
Vikas, a hotelier from McLeodganj, said the Dalai Lama’s teachings had given a boost to tourism in the region. Most of the South East Asian Buddhist groups were likely to stay in Upper Dharamsala for a about a week, he added.
