This was the Dalai Lama's third public appearance this month. On October 4, he had given religious sermons on the Generation of Bodhichita (semkye) and the Conferment of Bodhisattva Vows (jangdom), followed by a short sermon on 100 deities of Tushita Heaven (gaden lhagyama) to Taiwanese and other foreign nationals at the main Tibetan Temple.
On October 16, the Dalai Lama had granted a public audience at his residence in Dharamsala and devotees from Bhutan had offered a heartfelt song of praise. On October 8, the Dalai Lama had attended a long-life prayer offered to him by the Australian Tibetan National Association, Tibetan Communities Europe and the Tibetan Youth Congress.
Today, a group of artistes from among the Buddhist people of Bhutan composed a traditional song capturing the excitement and blessings of the Dalai Lama. The Bhutanese people lined up to have a personal audience with the spiritual leader. The Dalai Lama met all of them one by one and gave his blessings.
