Dalai Lama to return from US on August 28

The Dalai Lama will return to Dharamsala on August 28 after undergoing a knee replacement surgery in the US on June 23. After successful surgery on June 28, the Dalai Lama recovered in a private estate in New York. He will be making a brief stopover in Europe where his followers will offer long-life payers to him.Being a symbol of Tibetan devotion, Tibetans living in exile and Buddhism followers are excited over the return of the Dalai Lama to Dharamsala after two months.
Upon his return, three prayer meetings will be organised in McLeodganj for his long life. The Dalai Lama is now in New York after completing a six-week recovery period at the Nappi Farmhouse in Syracuse, New York.
The Dalai Lama received good care during his stay and worked with a physiotherapist for a speedy recovery. Dr David Memon, chief of the Adult Reconstruction and Joint Replacement Service at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, said that the Dalai Lama’s health was expected to improve over the next six to 12 months.
