Damtal police rescue ailing truck driver

During a patrol in Damtal area under Nurpur police district, a team led by Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Gas Lal discovered a man in poor health sitting inside the Hill-Top temple. The temple priest informed the police that the person had been staying there for nearly a day.

The police identified him as Sandeep Sharma (46), son of Balraj Sharma, a resident of village Bahlolpur near Malikpur, Pathankot district. Sandeep, a truck driver, had been away from home for several days and reportedly took shelter at the temple due to illness.

Showing compassion, the police team transported him in a service vehicle to his native village and handed him over safely to his family. The handover took place in the presence of the local municipal councillor. The police also advised the family to provide him medical treatment, earning appreciation for their humanitarian act.
