DAV state-level football tournament comes to a close
12 teams from five clusters, competing across three categories take part in event
The DAV State-Level Football Tournament 2025-26 concluded with enthusiasm at DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi, on Monday. The closing ceremony was graced by Virender Bhatt Sharma, Mayor of Mandi Municipal Corporation, who praised the budding footballers for their discipline, talent and sportsmanship. The event was also attended by Deepika Sharma, Principal of DAV Jamthal, who motivated the young players with her inspiring words.
The tournament, which began yesterday, saw the participation of 12 teams from five clusters, competing across three categories. In the Under-14 category, Cluster 2 emerged victorious, while Cluster 6 finished as runners-up. Saransh and Mukul, both from Cluster 2, were declared Best Player and Best Goalkeeper, respectively.
In the Under-17 category, Cluster 6 lifted the winners’ trophy, with Cluster 2 as runners-up. Ishaan Thakur of Cluster 2 was adjudged Best Player, while Aryaveer Ranjha of Cluster 6 earned the title of Best Goalkeeper. The Under-19 championship was claimed by Cluster 1, with Cluster 2 securing the runner-up position. Aditya Raj Singh of Cluster 2 was named best player and his teammate Kartik Duggal was awarded best goalkeeper.
Principal KS Guleria of DAV Centenary Public School, Mandi, congratulated all participants, remarking that “sports nurture discipline, teamwork and confidence, and every player in this tournament has proven to be a true champion”. The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony and a heartfelt vote of thanks.
