Shimla Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anupam Kashyap on Wednesday announced that transportation rates for apple boxes in Shimla district have been officially fixed for the current apple season. He cautioned that strict legal action will be taken against any operators or transporters found charging more than the notified rates. The rates, he said, have been determined based on the weight of the boxes and distance travelled and are applicable to trucks, mini-trucks and four-wheeled pick-up vehicles.
