DC calls on students to aim for excellence
Addresses students at the Yuva Samvad programme held at Government Post Graduate College
Chamba Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repaswal called upon young people to pursue excellence through hard work, perseverance and positive thinking. He was addressing students at the Yuva Samvad programme held at Government Post Graduate College, Chamba, on Saturday.
The event, organised by the District Employment Office on the theme “From hard work to success”, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students. Repaswal emphasised that youth are the driving force behind the nation’s future and urged them to overcome challenges with determination and consistent effort. Sharing his personal experiences, he highlighted that even the toughest goals, including UPSC and other competitive exams, can be achieved with dedication.
Highlighting the growing menace of drug abuse among the younger generation, he cautioned that addiction weakens both the body and the mind. He appealed to students to stay away from drugs and play an active role in creating a drug-free society.
Repaswal also spoke about the ongoing ‘Swachhata Hi Seva Abhiyan–2025,’ urging students to integrate cleanliness into their daily lives instead of treating it merely as a campaign. He emphasised proper waste management, noting that individuals can deposit plastic waste with the Municipal Council, which pays Rs 75 per kg. On the occasion, he administered a cleanliness pledge to all attendees.
