DC: Expedite restoration work in Kinnaur

Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner Dr Amit Kumar Sharma visited flood-affected area at Rispa Nallah in Pooh subdivision and directed the officials concerned to expedite restoration work. He also ordered the Jal Shakti Department to ensure that irrigation and drinking water facilities in the region remain functional.

The Deputy Commissioner further instructed the officials of the department concerned to carry out permanent repairs of a sinking portion of the road and keep traffic movement smooth. He assessed the damage to infrastructure and assured all possible assistance.

During a surprise inspection of the waste management plant at Powari, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Local Area Development Authority officials to ensure separate disposal of dry and wet waste. He said door-to-door garbage collection should be ensured in the district and people must be made aware of proper waste management practices.
