The DC was briefed by the NHAI officials about the centre’s facilities and the safety measures implemented to ensure road safety. Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) said the Traffic Control Centre will be responsible for monitoring various aspects of road safety, especially within the two tunnels located along the four-lane stretch at Bindrani.

The tunnels are equipped with sensors capable of sending alerts to the control room in case of any emergency. These sensors monitor critical factors such as temperature, visibility and pollution levels within the tunnels. Additionally, the tunnels are equipped with advanced fire safety and monitoring systems to prevent accidents and ensure timely action in case of any emergency.

To communicate emergency alerts effectively to drivers and passengers, sound broadcasting systems have been installed in the tunnels. These systems also facilitate two-way communication with travellers through an SOS mechanism, ensuring swift response during critical situations.
