Sirmaur DC stresses on corporate responsibility

Sirmaur Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta emphasised the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) for industrial establishments. He underscored that industries should actively contribute to societal development through the CSR initiatives, particularly in education, healthcare, environmental conservation and infrastructure development sectors.
While presiding over a CSR meeting in Nahan, the DC highlighted the critical role that CSR could play in addressing pressing social issues and supporting sustainable development. The meeting aimed to discuss and strategise effective CSR activities that could substantially benefit the local community.
During the session, Khimta appealed to the industrial groups to increase their contributions under CSR and he also lauded the ongoing support and contributions made by various groups under their CSR commitments, acknowledging their positive impact on the community.
The DC’s call to action is expected to increase CSR efforts in Sirmaur, promoting a more cohesive and sustained approach to corporate involvement in social development. General Manager of the District Industries Centre Sakshi Satti and representatives from various industrial sectors were present on the occasion.
