AC Bhardwaj, a renowned pahari folk singer, performed at the virtual orientation programme of APG University. Bhardwaj told students if they worked hard and attained the best education, they would go far in life. Thousands of APG students enjoyed the pahari songs. Vice-Chancellor Ramesh Kumar Choudhary said during Covid, education was not limited to the blackboard and books. The pandemic had changed the traditional method of education. “The crisis has compelled us to adopt virtual platform through smartphones, tablets and computer to proceed ahead in life,” said Professor Choudhary.
Extend last date of admission: ABVP
The ABVP, in a memorandum submitted to the Dean of Studies, HPU, demanded that the last date for admission to MPhil and LLB courses should be extended. The last date for submitting the forms was August 31. The students’ body said many students could not fill up the forms as the university website wasn’t functioning properly. The Dean of Studies assured the ABVP that he would look into the matter and try to fulfill their demand.
Webinar on New Education Policy at HPTU
Asheesh Chauhan, national organising secretary of the ABVP, has said that higher education should be given in regional languages as well. He was addressing an online webinar on the New Education Policy organised by the Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU). Stating that childhood education was important, he said the better the foundation, the more capable a child will be to handle challenges in future. Vice-Chancellor SP Bansal said the New Education Policy would connect the youth with the nation and help in controlling the brain drain from the country. “The policy talks about skill development, technical education and research that will make the youth competitive,” he added.
