The state government is determined to providing basic educational facilities to schoolchildren to ensure quality education for all.

This was said by Education Minister Rohit Thakur during the foundation stone-laying ceremony for an additional school building at Shawga village in Rajgarh subdivision.

The project, costing Rs 1 crore, aims to enhance the learning environment by providing students with adequate seating and infrastructure.

Addressing the gathering, the minister said the construction of the additional building would address the need for better facilities, ensuring that children not only had access to quality education but also comfortable spaces for learning.

He assured the gathering that other demands from the region would be fulfilled on priority. Thakur made several announcements during the event, including the allocation of Rs 7 lakh for raising a protection wall at Shirgul Maharaj Temple in Shaya village, and Rs 20,000 to support cultural programmes at Government Senior Secondary School, Shawga.

Later in the day, the Education Minister inaugurated the newly constructed Science Block of Government Senior Secondary School, Sharaga, which was built at a cost of Rs 51 lakh.

The building was constructed with the support of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). He said the lack of a science block had previously caused difficulties for students, but the new facility would provide ample seating and necessary infrastructure for scientific education.

“The Science Block would offer all necessary facilities to students, especially those in senior classes, who will now be able to conduct practical experiments without any hindrance,” the minister added.

Headmaster Lokesh Tomar welcomed and honoured the chief guest during the ceremony. Pachhad MLA Reena Kashyap, former MLA GR Musafir, former Zila Parishad Chairperson Dayal Pyari, youth organisations, and officials from various departments were present during the ceremony.
