Dehri college marks National Space Day with student showcase

The Department of Physics at Government College, Dehri, in Fatehpur subdivision, celebrated National Space Day on Saturday with an inter-departmental student event themed “Aryabhatta to Gaganyaan: Ancient Wisdom to Infinite Possibilities.”

The celebration aimed to highlight illustrious India’s journey in space research — from its ancient astronomical heritage to modern space missions. Students from various departments took part in the event, which featured oral presentations, poster exhibitions and model-making displays.

A total of 15 students showcased posters, six delivered oral presentations and six created innovative models. The exhibition emerged as the main attraction, covering topics such as the Aryabhatta satellite, the Chandrayaan missions and the upcoming human spaceflight programme, Gaganyaan.

Through posters, models and presentations, participants explored a wide range of subjects — from India’s early astronomical achievements to contemporary advancements in space technology. The initiative aimed to inspire curiosity in space science while drawing connections between India’s scientific heritage and the nation’s evolving capabilities in space exploration. The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognising the best entries. Faculty members and students applauded the participants’ creativity and dedication.
