The government has appointed four specialists at the district hospital, Keylong, in Lahaul and Spiti today. The posts of anaesthetist, surgeon and gynaecologist were lying vacant at the hospital.

Residents were delighted as they will be able to avail better medical care on their doorsteps.

Kunga Bodh, vice-president of the District Youth Congress, said the residents were thankful to the government for appointing the specialists. Earlier, the government had appointed a paediatrician and a lab technician at the hospital.— TNS

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
