Trading community in Nurpur, Rehan, Fatehpur, Raja ka Talab, Indora and Labh towns of the lower Kangra region observed shutdown for three hours from 9 am to 12 am on Thursday to express anguish against the brutal killing of innocent tourists by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.

Local residents, members of beopar mandals, social organisations and political parties joined hands in holding protest demonstrations in these towns.

Slogans of ‘Vande-Mataram’ as well as anti-Pakistan slogans were raised during the protest. The protestors also carried placards with anti-Pakistan slogans as they marched in local markets.

To express their deep anguish against the barbaric attack, the demonstrators dragged effigies of Pakistan throughout their protest march and later burnt these before culminating their march at Nurpur and Rehan.

Meanwhile, Rajiv Bhardwaj, Lok Sabha MP from Kangra, said the entire global community was well aware of such anti-humanity forces that were aiding terrorism in India.

Expressing confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Bhardwaj said the perpetrators of this heinous crime against humanity would certainly face a punishment that would be remembered by their future generations.
