In a significant step towards improving water infrastructure, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri inaugurated two water supply projects in the Renukaji Assembly constituency of Sirmaur district on Monday.
One of the two projects, worth Rs 90 lakh, aims to supply water to the Harijan Basti areas of Bharsarth, Rahia Khala, and Kiar in Koti Dhiman gram panchayat. The other project, which has been constructed at a cost of Rs 1.14 crore, is a water supply augmentation and improvement project for Dadahu gram panchayat.

Agnihotri also announced several new projects aimed at enhancing the infrastructure of the Renukaji constituency. These projects would include a bus stand at Nauradhar and a rest house for the Jal Shakti Department in Sangrah.
He also declared an immediate release of Rs 4 crore for water supply projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission, which is a part of the larger Rs 8 crore initiative for the area.
Agnihotri also highlighted the ongoing development work on 38 drinking water projects and 23 irrigation schemes, which are valued at Rs 110 crore, across the region. He assured the residents that drinking water would soon be available to panchayats surrounding Dadahu within the next three months.
He also announced the resumption of bus services from Sangrah to Chandigarh and Shimla, and committed Rs 1 crore for the renovation of the Parshuram Temple pond.
Himachal Pradesh Assembly Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar was also present on the occasion. Before the inauguration of water supply projects, both Deputy CM and Deputy Speaker paid obeisance at the Renukaji Temple.
Following the inaugurations, Agnihotri also unveiled a statue of former Chief Parliamentary Secretary and six-time MLA of the Renukaji constituency, late Dr Prem Singh at the Dr Prem Singh Memorial Stadium in Maina Bagh.
In his address, Agnihotri praised the former chief parliamentary secretary for his substantial contributions to the development of the Renukaji segment. He further said, “This land is not only blessed with the legacy of Dr Prem Singh, but also with the visionary leadership of Dr Yashwant Singh Parmar, the first CM of Himachal Pradesh. The people of this area are fortunate to witness such impactful leadership over the decades.”
The Deputy CM also commended the ongoing efforts of Dr Prem Singh’s son Vinay Kumar for carrying forward the legacy of development in the constituency.
As part of his visit, Agnihotri also inspected a blood donation camp held at the Dr Prem Singh Memorial Stadium and announced the construction of an entrance gate at the stadium’s approach road.
The HP Assembly Deputy Speaker thanked Agnihotri for approving ‘crucial’ projects for the Renukaji constituency. He also remembered his father Dr Prem Singh, saying his work in the region had laid the foundation for significant development across the constituency.
