Deputy Speaker inaugurates Rs 38L road in Renukaji village

Emphasising the state government’s commitment to providing essential facilities like health, education and roads in rural areas, the Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Vinay Kumar, inaugurated a newly constructed 2.25-km road connecting Deed Bagar to Chamayana in the Renukaji Assembly constituency. The project, completed under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MG-NREGA) and the MLA fund, cost Rs 38 lakh.

Addressing a public gathering in Chamayana, Kumar stated, “The construction of this road fulfills a long-standing demand of the villagers. It will significantly ease the transportation of sick individuals to hospitals and enable farmers to take their cash crops to markets without difficulty.”

He lauded the community’s cooperation, particularly the land donors, whose contributions made the road construction possible. “For me, there is no distinction between Deed and Chamayana. I congratulate the villagers for this achievement, which was possible because of your generosity in donating land,” Kumar remarked.

He further added that no panchayat in the constituency was left untouched by development projects. “Whether it is road construction, building infrastructure or drinking water schemes, work is being carried out in every village using MLA funds and other resources,” he asserted.

During the event, Kumar announced Rs 5 lakh for building a kitchen set for the community hall in Chamayana village. Responding to the demand to rename the village and the local school, he assured the villagers that the matter of changing Deed Bagar to Deed-Bagar would be raised with the government. Additionally, the school in Bagar will also be renamed to reflect the new name.

Kumar reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring that development in Sirmaur district progresses without hindrance. He emphasised the importance of community involvement in development projects, highlighting that inclusive efforts are key to sustainable growth.

The newly-constructed road is expected to bring significant improvements to the lives of the villagers, enhancing connectivity and accessibility and fostering economic growth in the region.
