Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar today performed the groundbreaking ceremony for a new road project in the Bharadi gram panchayat of the Shri Renukaji Assembly constituency.
The approximately 13-km proposed road from Bharadi to Dikrahan-Bhavan-Chandog will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 13.76 crore.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Kumar highlighted the significance of the road, stating that it would greatly benefit thousands of residents in the regions of Nauradhar, Bogdhar, Ludhiana, Bharadi, Chadna, Devamanal and Sangrah.
He said the project, which was first envisioned by his father, late Dr Prem Singh, a former MLA from the Renuka area, was now being realised under the Congress-led government.
Kumar expressed his gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for ensuring the availability of necessary funds for the road’s construction. He criticised the previous government, accusing its leaders of making empty promises during their visits to the area, and not initiating any tangible developmental work.
In contrast, Kumar praised the current state government for its proactive approach to uplift every section of society.
The Deputy Speaker assured the public that the government was prioritising essential infrastructure development, particularly in the areas of road connectivity, healthcare and education.
He said he was committed to promptly addressing any issues brought to his attention, ensuring that the region received the attention and resources it needed to thrive.
