Develop app for medical test online payment: CM
The government will invest over Rs 3,000 crore to enhance modern healthcare services, says a spokesperson
The Health Department will develop an application (app) for online payment for medical tests in the hospitals of the state, promoting digital governance.
A government spokesperson today said that Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu had directed the Health Department to develop an app for the convenience of the public. He had instructed the Health Department to develop and app in coordination with the Digital Technologies and Governance Department within one month for convenient and cashless services.
He said that once launched, people would no longer have to stand in long queues at hospitals to pay for tests and would receive quality and seamless healthcare services. Additionally, interested individuals would also be able to book online appointments with doctors at various hospitals through this app, he added.
The spokesperson said that the government had decided to invest over Rs 3,000 crore to enhance modern healthcare services and develop and expand health infrastructure, he added.
