Development works in Chamba district reviewed
A review meeting focused on the development works related to Chamba district was held in the conference room of NHPC Office, Banikhet. The meeting was chaired by the Union Minister of State for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Labour & Employment Shobha Karandlaje. Discussions and reviews were conducted on various aspects of development, including roads, health, education and other sectors in the district.
Karandlaje instructed officials from both state and central government departments to work in better coordination to ensure maximum benefit from government schemes for eligible beneficiaries. The meeting also covered topics such as nutrition provided through Anganwadi centres for children and women, the 100-day TB eradication campaign, infrastructure at Anganwadi centres, quality of health services in Chamba district, mid-day meals in schools, MUDRA loans, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana and schemes related to agriculture and horticulture. Detailed discussions were held and the Union minister provided essential guidelines to the concerned officers.
She directed the agriculture and horticulture departments to raise awareness about their schemes through public representatives to reach people in rural and remote areas of the district. She also suggested organising awareness camps to educate farmers and gardeners about new and advanced technologies to boost productivity at a lower cost, thereby strengthening their economic standing.
The minister further instructed the Superintendent Engineer of the Public Works Department to take necessary steps to improve road facilities in rural areas of the district. She advised Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav to implement effective measures for preventing crimes against women, curbing drug abuse, and reducing road accidents.
The review also included discussions on development projects under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework in health and education as well as programs related to EPFO, MSME, ESIC, NSIC, and the Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Srijan Karyakram.
Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Chamba Mukesh Repaswal welcomed the minister and assured full compliance of her directives.
The meeting was attended by Kangra MP Rajeev Bhardwaj, Dalhousie MLA DS Thakur, Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav, Additional District Magistrate Amit Mehra, SDM Dalhousie Anil Bhardwaj, among other state government officials.
Representatives from central government organizations such as ESIC, EPFO, Khadi and Village Industries Commission, and MSME were also present.
