Devotees offer prayers for Dalai Lama’s long life

About 1,500 devotees from Lahaul and Spiti district today gathered at Tsuklakhang, the main temple of the Dalai Lama, to offer long-life prayers to him. The Dalai Lama gave the devotees from Lahaul and Spiti district a cheerful audience. He came out of his residence on a golf cart and walked through the devotees with assistance from his personal staff.

The Dalai Lama had undergone a knee replacement surgery in the US and returned to India in August. Buddhist groups from India and other countries are coming to Dharamsala to offer long-life prayers to the aging Dalai Lama, who has been a pivotal figure of the Tibetan struggle.
