Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 13 projects worth Rs 71.39 crore at Dharampur in Mandi district.

He inaugurated bridges built on the Awahdevi-Tehra, Anaswaai-Chaswal, Hukkal-Chattar, Sherpur-Sari via Khaber and Sajau-Chatrayana roads, type-II PWD staff quarters, Assistant Engineer’s residence at Mandap and a Public Facilitation Centre at Dharampur to be used to produce bamboo items and provide training to artisans.

Sukhu laid the foundation stone of a Rs 50.55 crore project to provide irrigation water to 775 hectares at Chauntara, Gopalpur and Dharampur blocks of Mandi district under the HP Shiva Project. He also laid the foundation stones of a PWD circle office building at Dharampur, a Health Sub Centre at Rangad and a Cocoon Marketing and Storage Centre at Sidhpur.

Earlier, at the Statehood Day function, Sukhu announced Rs 20,000 each for 200 Mahila Mandals of Dharampur. He also announced the opening of a DSP office at Dharampur, creation of nagar panchayats at Dharampur and Sandhol, Rs 10 crore each for the Sandhol-Dharampur road via Marhi and the Sandhol-Dharampur road via Syoh, Rs 3 crore for the beautification of Baba Kamlahiya Temple, Rs 1.50 crore for the Community Health Centre (CHC) at Tihra, Rs 1.50 crore and Rs 1 crore for the combined office buildings at Sandhol and Dharampur, Rs 1.50 crore for a multipurpose hall at Government Degree College, Dharampur, and Rs 50 lakh each for the Civil Hospitals at Dharampur and Sandhol.

He also announced a sports hostel for girls and postgraduate zoology classes at Government Degree College, Sarkaghat, postgraduate classes in English, economics and Hindi at Government Degree College, Dharampur, and Rs 24.80 crore for channelling khads in the area.
