Dharamsala MLA gives notice for privilege motion against CM

Dharamsala MLA Sudhir Sharma has written a letter to Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania to inform him that he wishes to bring a privilege motion against Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for “misleading the House by making false and misleading statements”. The MLA has posted the letter on his Facebook page.

The Speaker admitted that Sharma had sent a notice to bring a privilege motion and said that the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat was looking into it. “The notice can’t be given for publicity. If the points mentioned in the notice are found baseless, there are provisions for action against it as well,” he added.

The MLA has alleged that the Chief Minister, while replying to questions and making statements in the House, has presented facts that are incorrect, misleading and contrary to the records. He alleged that the the Chief Minister’s replies in the House did not correspond with actual facts and the statements regarding government policies and announcements had been found to be misleading and untrue.
