Dharmani assures full support to rain-hit families in Ghumarwin

Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani on Friday assured that every possible help would be extended to disaster-affected families in Bilaspur district, just as in other regions of the state. He made the statement during his visit to several villages in the Ghumarwin Assembly constituency, where recent heavy rainfall caused extensive property damage. The minister also met affected families, expressed solidarity and shared their grief.

The recent spell of torrential rain forced many families to take shelter in temporary relief camps, as both kutcha and pucca houses were destroyed across several villages.

Dharmani said in the first phase of assessment, 18 houses were reported completely damaged across 14 gram panchayats and in the Ghumarwin Nagar Parishad area. The minister said immediate relief of about Rs 70,000 has already been disbursed to each affected family. In addition, 14 tarpaulins have been provided to ensure temporary shelter. Revenue department officials are continuing ground-level assessments to calculate the full extent of losses.

Reiterating the government’s commitment, Dharmani assured that the state will provide timely and comprehensive assistance to all families impacted by the disaster.
