Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani inaugurated the three-day state-level Tsechu Fair at Rewalsar in Mandi district, celebrating the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava. The fair, an important religious and cultural event, symbolises religious harmony as Rewalsar is a sacred site for Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs.

Dharmani praised Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu’s welfare initiatives, highlighting key decisions such as: honorarium increase: A significant rise in payments to public representatives; MGNREGA wages: Daily wages increased to Rs 300; dairy sector support: Minimum support price for cow milk raised to Rs 45 per litre and buffalo milk to Rs 55; natural farming promotion: Organic maize is being purchased at Rs 30 per kg; and women’s welfare: Rs 1,500 provided to women under various schemes.

On International Women’s Day, Dharmani congratulated all women and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to their empowerment.

The event featured cultural performances by Mahila Mandals, Anganwadi children, and workers. A special highlight was a performance by children with special needs from Bhangrotu’s Day Care Centre, who were awarded Rs 21,000 by the minister.
