The Kangra district administration has launched a special initiative—Dharti Aba Janjati Utkarsh Abhiyan—to drive the development of 16 tribal-dominated villages. From June 15 to June 30, an intensive awareness campaign will be carried out to ensure that every eligible tribal beneficiary is covered under key government welfare schemes.

A district-level launch event will be held on June 15 in Kasba village, located in Narwana Khas block. During a recent review meeting, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa instructed officials to guarantee 100% coverage of welfare schemes in all selected villages. He stressed the administration’s commitment to reaching every eligible person and ensuring no one is left behind.

Bairwa said villages with over 50% tribal population have been selected for focused developmental action under the campaign. Each chosen panchayat will see comprehensive improvements aimed at enhancing the quality of life for tribal communities. Departments have been directed to work in close coordination and adhere to fixed timelines.

As part of the campaign, help desks will be established in each panchayat to assist residents with services like Aadhaar enrollment, Jan Dhan account opening, community certificates, Forest Rights Act (FRA) settlements, Ayushman Bharat health cards, pension schemes, and nutrition programs. Furthermore, health camps will be organized to provide essential medical services to the tribal population. Public awareness camps and development exhibitions will also be conducted by various departments.

To enhance outreach, Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Nehru Yuva Kendra members will actively participate in mobilizing communities. The DC has asked officials from all departments to disseminate information about the schemes under their jurisdiction and to ensure full engagement in the campaign.
