Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh on Saturday said a sum of Rs 50 lakh will be provided to every Assembly segment for the road restoration work.

He said the segments that suffered extensive damage to the road network due to flash floods during the monsoon would get Rs 2 crore.

“I will meet the Union Ministers to seek special financial assistance from the Centre to restore normalcy, especially in the areas hit by cloudbursts and flash floods,” he said.

“I visited Seraj and spoke with people about the problems they are facing. It is really painful to see the suffering of the disaster- hit families, who have been rendered homeless,” he said.

The PWD department had been working relentlessly on the ground to restore connectivity in Seraj as this would help expedite restoration and relief work, said Vikramaditya.

The minister said ensuring balanced and uniform development of Himachal remained the top priority of the government.
