Disrupted water schemes in Dharampur being restored on war footing: Agnihotri

Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today said that the restoration of the remaining disrupted water schemes in Dharampur in Mandi district was being undertaken on a war footing to provide relief to people at the earliest.

Agnihotri said that the Dharampur Assembly constituency was grappling with the severe impact of the recent rain disaster, as 70 water schemes of the Jal Shakti Department had been severely affected there. “Despite tough and challenging conditions, the dedicated employees of the Jal Shakti Department made relentless efforts and managed to partially restore 48 schemes so far,” he added.

He appreciated the commitment of the departmental staff who continued their work even amid the disaster and gushing waters. He said that the state government was according priority to restoring essential facilities in the disaster-hit areas.

Agnihotri assured people that the government was working actively at every level to ensure that the people of Dharampur did not face any inconvenience. He expressed confidence that all water schemes would be fully functional soon, ensuring smooth water supply to people.
