The district-level fencing competition for boys and girls concluded on a high note at Army Public School (APS), Dagshai last evening, with participants putting up spirited performances across three major fencing disciplines — Foil, Epee and Sabre — in multiple age categories. The host school emerged as a dominant force, securing several podium finishes and medals.

The event was formally inaugurated by Shadi Lal Goswami, president of the Himachal Pradesh Fencing Association, who lauded the energy, focus and commitment of the young fencers. In his inaugural address, he encouraged students to embrace sports as a powerful medium for discipline and self-growth.

More than 45 participants from across the district took part in the championship, showcasing exceptional skill, agility and sportsmanship. The event not only served as a competitive platform but also a celebration of emerging talent in the lesser-known sport of fencing.
