District-level advisory panel meet in Nahan

A district-level advisory and monitoring committee meeting was held in Nahan, chaired by Harshwardhan Chauhan, Minister of Industries, Parliamentary Affairs, Labour and Employment. The meeting reviewed progress under key government initiatives, including the Swachh Bharat Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), National Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U), and Deen Dayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM).

Chauhan emphasised promoting sanitation in rural areas under the Swachh Bharat Mission. He directed committee members to expedite developmental efforts across Sirmaur district, ensuring the timely implementation of schemes aimed at improving urban and rural infrastructure.

The meeting was informed that under AMRUT, a pilot project is underway in Amarpur Mohalla to provide 24-hour water supply to households by December 2025. Under the DAY-NULM, progress has been made to uplift marginalised sections of society. In Paonta Sahib, 281 vendors have received financial assistance of Rs 10,000 each. As many as 85 homeless individuals in Nahan have been provided shelter, ensuring their safety and dignity. In Rajgarh, the scheme has facilitated self-reliance by providing loans worth Rs 84 lakh at affordable rates to 73 individuals, enabling them to pursue livelihood opportunities.
