The Youth Voice Foundation, an NGO comprising retired Army officials, has exhorted politicians not to make unwarranted public statements that were against the nation’s interests.

The foundation based at Pathankot has passed a resolution to express solidarity with the Centre for any strategy that hit hard Pakistan-sponsored terrorist attack in Pahalgam of Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.

Colonel Ashok Dogra (retd), president of the foundation and resident of the Nurpur area, in a statement here said that the terrorist attack in which 26 persons, including 25 male tourists, were killed was a security failure but it did not mean that Pakistan got a right to infiltrate armed terrorists across the Line of Control (LoC) and kill innocent tourists.

Colonel Dogra (retd) said that the terror attack had shaken the conscience of the whole nation and disrupted the emerging tourism industry in Jammu and Kashmir.
