Solan, July 30
In a bid to contain the infection, the District Magistrate today directed the health workers to conduct door-to-door screening of people, who exhibit flu-like symptoms, residing in containment zones (CZs).
New areas have been declared as CZs in the Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial belt after 22 persons tested positive on Wednesday evening. The new containment zone areas are Bhatoli Kalan, Reru, Jhiriwala villages and Behli gram panchayat. In these areas, the movement of people and vehicles has been restricted.
With the emergence of positive cases in Marrawala, on the border of Haryana, the police had banned the foot movement of workers to the adjoining area of Barotiwala, said Baddi SP Rohit Malpani.
Earlier, there was no restriction on the movement of workers, as a large section of the industrial workforce resides in the bordering areas of Punjab and Haryana.
