A proposal for construction of Draman-Jot-Chamba-Killar (Pangi) national highway has been submitted to the Centre, said HP Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Hans Raj while addressing media persons here today.
Hans Raj said the proposal of this national highway included ‘multipurpose tunnels’ beneath Jot and Chehni passes. He hoped that if the proposal was finalized, it would provide an all-weather access to the Pangi tribal valley with the rest of Chamba district and the outer world.
The national highway would also be useful from the strategic point of view, Hans Raj stated.
Hans Raj said that the process for the construction of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Government Medical College and Hospital had been undertaken which would be completed in a time-bound manner as prescribed in the tender agreement.
Mentioning about segregation of panchayat limits, Hans Raj said that 11 new panchayats had been created in Churah subdivision by the government to facilitate public; adding that these panchayats would go a long way in generating employment to around 250 local people.
