Driver-conductor body presents demand charter to Deputy CM
Office-bearers of the Una district unit of the Himachal Pradesh Semi-Government Drivers and Conductors Federation met Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, who also holds charge of the Transport department, in Una today and presented him a charter of their demands.
Federation vice president Beant Singh said their demands include restoration of the revision of pay scale after 1,9 and 14 years of service and additional pay increments on completion of 8, 15 and 20 years of service in place of the existing pay revision on completing 15, 20 and 25 years of service. They also demanded increase in Special Pay.
Agnihotri assured them that their demands will be examined. He said the state government is committed to providing better transport facilities to the people for which the department’s infrastructure and fleet of buses was being strengthened. He said 700 new buses will be added to the existing fleet of buses in the HRTC.
The Dy CM said mini buses have been pressed into service in far-flung areas where there are fewer passengers, adding that technical infrastructure at the HRTC depots is also being spruced up. Federation cashier Shyam Lal and Executive member Jasvir Singh and Naresh Kumar were also present on the occasion.
