A drug peddler, Shubham Patial, was convicted and sentenced to six months imprisonment along with a fine of Rs 18,250 by Additional Session Judge Sachin Raghu. Patial was arrested on October 20, 2021, with 6.55 gram of heroin and was also driving without a number plate or helmet. He was charged under the NDPS Act and Motor Vehicle Act. The court imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 under the NDPS Act, Rs 750 under the MV Act, and Rs 7,500 under Section 181 of the MV Act.
