Dry spell: People seek divine intervention
Mandi, June 13
For an end to the long dry spell in Kullu and Lahaul and Spiti, people of both districts have been seeking divine intervention. They are visiting nearby temples to pray for rainfall for the better crop.
People of the Billing village in the Lahaul valley were gathered at the temple of a local deity two days ago, to seek rainfall to end the long dry spell.
Shiv Kumar, a resident of Billing village, says, “The residents of the Lahaul valley have been facing the brunt of the long dry spell. People have deep faith in deities and we are seeking divine intervention to end this long dry spell of weather”.
