A new eco-tourism initiative is set to welcome pilgrims and tourists in Pachhad subdivision of Sirmaur district, where the Forest Department has developed a green park at the historic Bhureshwar Mahadev Temple in Kathar Panchayat. The park, spread over five bighas, will be formally opened to visitors on September 15.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Rajgarh, Sameer Raj, said the Bhureshwar Mahadev Temple remains crowded with devotees and tourists throughout the year and the project has been undertaken to provide them with better facilities.
Under the eco-tourism scheme, the Forest Department has created a landscaped park featuring a variety of flowers, medicinal herbs and ornamental plants. The initiative aims to offer visitors a place to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings after offering prayers at the temple.
For added convenience, a canteen has also been constructed within the premises. The tendering process for its operation has already been completed, ensuring that refreshments will be available for devotees and tourists travelling from distant locations.
Sameer Raj highlighted that the forest park is not only designed as a recreational space but also as a destination where visitors can find peace of mind amidst nature’s charm. He urged tourists and devotees to cooperate in maintaining cleanliness within the temple and park areas and to refrain from littering in the nearby forest.
