ED raids pharma firm at Kala Amb

Sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raided Athens Labs Limited, a pharmaceutical manufacturing company, at Kala Amb in Sirmaur district this morning.

When the five-member ED team reached the pharma company, only security personnel were on duty. The company management and the staff were called but no one was allowed to enter the premises. Besides, mobile phones of the staff members were seized or switched off, according to company sources.

The ED team from Chandigarh also raided the offices of the pharma company in Chandigarh and New Delhi. The action appears to be taken with regard to an irregular hawala transaction. More details were yet to emerge even as the local police were unaware of the presence of the ED team in the area.
