Efforts on for Bijli Mahadev ropeway: Jai Ram Thakur

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today unfurled the tricolour and took the salute from the contingents of Himachal Pradesh Police, Home Guards, ITBP and the SSB. The Chief Minister paid tributes to the freedom fighters who made supreme sacrifices for the freedom of the country and paid tributes to the martyred soldiers at the state function to mark the 74th I-Day celebrations here.
The CM said his government was committed to welfare of freedom fighters, soldiers, ex-servicemen and their families.
Thakur appreciated the Corona Warriors for their valuable contributions in the fight againt the pandemic. He thanked the people of the state for generously contributing towards the CM Covid Fund. He flagged off a Nasha Niwaran van.
The Chief Minister said that Atal Tunnel Rohtang would be developed, among other purposes, for tourism attraction. He said that efforts were on to provide ropeway facility to Bijli Mahadev of Kullu.
Thakur said that ‘Jan Manch’ programme was launched by the government for speedy redress of public grievances. He said that Mukhya Mantri Seva Sankalp Helpline -1100 had been started under which more than one lakh complaints have been received most of these had been redressed.
The cultural programmes were not organized this year due to Covid crisis. The Chief Minister awarded Civil Services awards to Ashutosh Garg, Director Information and Technology and to Lalit Jain for his outstanding work as DC Sirmaur. He presented Himachal Gaurav Puraskar-2020 to writer and photographer Birbal Sharma, noted singer from Mandi Balkrishan Sharma, doctor Mangat Ram Dogra and folk singer Narender Thakur. He presented Preranastrot Purskar to Sandeep Kumar of Bharwain area of Una district and Sushma Verma, a women international cricket player from Shimla district.
Education Minister Govind Singh Thakur, Mandi MP Ramswaroop Sharma, MLAs Surinder Shourie, Kishori Lal, Jawahar Thakur and Sunder Singh Thakur, Chief Secretray Anil Khachi, DGP Sanjay Kundu, and former MP Maheshwar Singh were among those present.
