Efforts up to eliminate TB in Chamba district

A district-level monthly meeting focused on tuberculosis (TB) elimination was held on Thursday at Chamba. The meeting was chaired by CMO Dr Bipen Thakur.

During the meeting, Dr Thakur said that the ongoing “100 Days TB Campaign,” will now be referred to as the “TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan” (TB-Free India Campaign). He said that 20% of the total population is now considered vulnerable to TB. High-risk groups identified include smokers, alcohol users, individuals with diabetes and other non-communicable diseases, those previously treated for TB and their families, elderly persons, prison inmates, residents of orphanages, tribal populations, and those living in slums—totaling 45 identified vulnerable categories.
