Eid celebrated with devotion and unity in Chamba
The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour and joy across Chamba district on Monday. A large congregation gathered at Chogan Number Five, where Imam Mohammad Yaseen Raza of Jama Masjid, Chamba, led the Eid prayers. He urged the community to follow the righteous path, serve humanity and prayed for the unity and integrity of the nation.
Imam Raza highlighted the spiritual significance of Ramadan, during which Muslims fast from Sehri (pre-dawn meal) to Iftar (evening meal), dedicating themselves to prayer and devotion. He described Eid-ul-Fitr as a joyous culmination of a month of fasting and self-discipline.
On Monday morning, worshippers, dressed in traditional attire, gathered at the prayer site in Chogan. After the prayers, the Muslim community exchanged warm Eid greetings, embracing each other in celebration. Members of the Hindu community also participated, extending their best wishes and strengthening the spirit of harmony.
