Electrifying performances light up 5th cultural evening in Mandi
The fifth cultural evening of the International Mahashivaratri Festival in Mandi was a night to remember, with an array of captivating performances by renowned artists. Himachali folk singer Inder Jeet mesmerised the audience with his traditional folk songs and energetic Natti performances, while Kumar Sahil, Arshpreet Kaur and Arin Arora delivered power-packed musical acts that added to the festive spirit.
The evening was graced by Industry Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, who attended as the chief guest. Inder Jeet set the stage ablaze with his famous Kullvi Laman, followed by an engaging mix of folk songs like Himachal Shobhla Desh Hamara, Budhua Mama, Pakhli Manoo, Tirchi Nazarain, and Laadi Shauni. The crowd particularly enjoyed his soulful renditions of Mandi Ki Jach Rinuwa, Soota Saladi, and Peepli Khai Laagi Shee Shee, dancing along to the beats.
Kumar Sahil, a young and dynamic singer, added to the energy with his vibrant performances of Diamond Di Jhanjhar, Lalaria, Leke Pehla Pehla Pyar, and Kajra Muhabbat Wala. His melodious voice and lively stage presence won the hearts of the audience.
The much-adored singing duo, Arshpreet Kaur and Arin Arora, further elevated the evening’s charm. Arin’s soulful renditions of Kesariya Tera Ishq Hai Piya, Tere Bin Saanu Soneya, and O Meri Look Te Mardi Si received thunderous applause. Arshpreet Kaur’s stunning performance of Allah Wale Ya Jugni captivated the crowd, and their duet Tare Gin Gin Raaton Nu left the audience in awe.
The evening commenced with a grand traditional welcome by Biri Singh Dal’s artists, who played the Shehnai and Dhol to set the festive mood. Local artists also took the stage, with Kamal Deep performing Tere Kano Ra Jhumka Bhabiye and Sanjay Kaundal enthralling the audience with Naagin Sa Roop Hai Tera.
Adding to the cultural vibrancy, international folk groups brought a touch of global traditions to Mandi. Performers from Fiji and other regions showcased their rich musical and dance heritage, blending beautifully with local traditions.
