Solan, December 26
Avinash Rai Khanna, in-charge of BJP affairs in Himachal, today exhorted party workers to work in unison to get rid of Covid, corruption and the Congress.
Khanna was given a rousing welcome at Solan during his maiden visit to the state after assuming charge as the Himachal in-charge.
He told the party workers that they should ensure that their booths were free of the Congress to ensure that the BJP retains power in the next Vidhan Sabha elections. He added that the field-level functionaries should be respected, as they work without any allurement.
When last Vidhan Sabha candidate from Solan Rajesh Kashyap rued that he had lost the elections by 671 votes, Khanna said he was not announcing the ticket but whoever gets it should say he won because of their field functionaries.
“The Congress is bereft of leadership and they should gear up for the Mission 2022 from today itself,” he said. “Since Solan has got an MC from the BJP government, the first Mayor should be from the party”.
Khanna warned the party dissidents contesting the zila parishad elections of disciplinary action. Co-in charge of party affairs in Himachal Sanjay Tandon, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Rajiv Saizal, district in-charge Payal Vaid, and district president Ashutosh Vaid were also present. — TNS
